This is a large group teaching with small group and individual accountability that will guide you into an understanding of prayer led by the Holy Spirit. Breathe Women's Ministry The women's ministry at Vanguard Church exists to love women into a real relationship with Christ, to lead them to a complete knowledge of God through relationships with other women, to define who they are as women and to hold each other accountabe. Through such events as our annual women's retreat, bible studies and our "Breath of Heaven" worship events, we hope to create an atmosphere where you can connect with God and with other women as you grow in your intimate relationship with our heavenly Father. We will also have fun social events like our Valentine Tea, Bunco, the Fall Kickoff, and "Deck the Halls" Christmas decorating for you to socialize and meet new people. Crown Small Group - Handling $$ the Right Way Have you ever been trained or taught key financial principles for life? Does the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle of life cause frustration and hopelessness? Come learn and be trained with principles from the Bible on cash and cash flow, income, debt, and giving. You are invited to explore and see what God's word says about finances and learn how to develop financial skills for your future. We will pray for each other, memorize scripture, and plan a budget, as we baby-step together toward financial freedom and growing in our relationship with God. Face to Face This prayer group is focused on praying for others based on II Timothy 2:1-4 (New Living Translation)"I urge you first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for He wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. We want to develop faithfulness in praying for our Vanguard leadership, people in various positions of authority, and those that are not yet in a REAL relationship with Jesus in our city, state, and nations of the earth. Fall 2008 Team Player Group If you have a desire to serve and lead at Vanguard, then Team Player Connection Group is the place for you to start your journey of service. This connection group is for people who desire to investigate Vanguard's philosophy of ministry and core values. The group will cover the four core values of a Team Player, Vanguard's doctrinal beliefs, and how to get connected into the ministry and leadership of Vanguard Church. At the end, you will have an opportunity to sign the Vanguard Covenant, become a Team Player, and join the dream and passion of loving people into a REAL relationship with Jesus Christ. X-Factor then meets in a circle and we're here to discuss, learn from each other, and investigate the differences between what pop culture says and how God wants us to live. 1another then splits off for a time of interactive teaching which relies heavily on discussion groups & object lessons which may involve firecrackers or squirt guns! MOPS MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. MOPS encourages moms through relationships established with other mothers, biblical teachings, and creative activities. MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting the needs of mothers, making connections, and experiencing God's love through relationships. We will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 8:45-11:00 am at Vanguard Church. This group continues until December. The cost is $5 per week for mom, $2 for the first child and $1 for each additional child in childcare per week. We want to provide a ministry that extends beyond the walls of the church and allows an opportunity for adventurous hearts to fellowship together. But, we need you! We currently offer the following activities: mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking (including 14ers), soccer, softball, volleyball, and corepoweryoga. Revelation Study An "in-depth" study of the book of Revelation is going to be conducted at Vanguard Church every Tuesday. The class will start at 7pm and is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the Revelation of Jesus our Messiah. The instructor will be John Shumaker. John is a published author and has been a Bible teacher since 1985 and has taught Revelation on several occasions before. Class participation is encouraged and there will be time for Q&A after each session. The classes will last about 90 minutes and we are on no time schedule so we will take whatever time is needed to explore this book. The study is designed for everyone - seasoned Christians as well as new believers who want to learn more about God's word. |
