Breathe Women's Ministry
The women's ministry at Vanguard Church exists to love women into a real relationship with Christ, to lead them to a complete knowledge of God through relationships with other women, to define who they are as women and to hold each other accountabe. Through such events as our annual women's retreat, bible studies and our "Breath of Heaven" worship events, we hope to create an atmosphere where you can connect with God and with other women as you grow in your intimate relationship with our heavenly Father. We will also have fun social events like our Valentine Tea, Bunco, the Fall Kickoff, and "Deck the Halls" Christmas decorating for you to socialize and meet new people. Mops
MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. MOPS encourages moms through relationships established with other mothers, biblical teachings, and creative activities. MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting the needs of mothers, making connections, and experiencing God's love through relationships. Cost is $8 per mom, including childcare. In the New Year, we will start meeting on January 6th.

The prayer ministry at Vanguard exists to bring glory to God And equip the body to be a people of prayer We are pursuing the goal that Jesus and the prophet Isaiah spoke "My house shall be a house of prayer for all nations " (Luke 19:46, Isaiah 56:7) ? Vanguard Prayer Ministry has an active 6 member Prayer Council that is committed to growing the culture of prayer at Vanguard ? We have a growing prayer ministry team that is available for personal prayer during our Sunday services. ? We have a corporate prayer gathering one Saturday morning a month that is for the prayer team members and those interested in becoming involved with prayer and intercession for Vanguard, our city, and beyond. ? Face to Face is our core intercession team that is modeled after I Timothy 2:1-6. This group meets Wednesdays during the year. ? We have teams that do targeted redemptive prayer walking in the city. ? Educators Prayer Shield is an active prayer network for the many public school educators in our Vanguard family. ? Missions: prayer ministry for those going out and coming off the field. The Nicene Creed (adapted in 381 AD) states, "We believe in one God the Father, Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and of all that is, seen and unseen." Our volunteers believe that if God has created all and is in all then his presence can be seen and heard in the cries and murmurs of culture… everywhere. Small groups and mentor groups exist to create intersections between the Bible, REAL life, struggles, and the world that lives in us. The focus is always deep and trusting relationship with God and others. Our high school life groups are certainly the "unseen" practice in our ministry. Meeting in homes and coffee shops, and serving around town, these groups have yielded tight relationships that are the glue of our ministry.

If you have a desire to serve and lead at Vanguard, then Team Player Connection Group is the place for you to start your journey of service. This connection group is for people who desire to investigate Vanguard's philosophy of ministry and core values. The group will cover the four core values of a Team Player, Vanguard's doctrinal beliefs, and how to get connected into the ministry and leadership of Vanguard Church. At the end, you will have an opportunity to sign the Vanguard Covenant, become a Team Player, and join the dream and passion of loving people into a REAL relationship with Jesus Christ. Forgiven and Set Free (A post-abortive study) If you have been affected by a past abortion, you may find yourself experiencing a wide range of unexpected, and confusing, thoughts and emotions. Whether it has been days, months or even years since the abortion, the pain of abortion is real. Vanguard will offer a Bible study comprised of women who have experienced the pain of an abortion. This is a safe and confidential environment where they can begin the healing process. During this study, issues of anger, guilt and forgiveness are some of the topics covered.
